MTM implementation on the TPM emulator

As part of a research effort of evaluating the Mobile Trusted Module (MTM) specification of the TCG at Nokia Research Center, we have implemented the MTM functionality as an add-on to the TPM emulator by Mario Strasser et al. The work was done with a focus on the device manufacturer aspect, i.e. the MRTM, but the emulation should be applicable to the MLTM functionality as well.

On this web page we publish our MTM patch to the TPM-EMU along with some support instructions for developers to get started. We have been in talks with the developers of TPM EMU regarding the integration of this functionality into the main emulator, and as soon as this becomes reality (possibly even before the end of 2007) we hope to move our participation in supporting this code to be part of this wider activity. In the meantime, our patches are available on this web page, and we welcome all comments, corrections and improvements. If (when) applicable, we will publish maintenance releases here, as well as (links) to any supporting material for this emulator we are made aware of.

We hope that this code can be of value to anybody interested in learning about the MTM functionality or for evaluation or reference design work. The implementation is based on the June -07 specification, but its accuracy has in no way been validated by the TCG. We also wish to emphasize that although our codebase also provides patches to the TSS (and the tools) of the TrouserS package, these are convenience functions - the MTM v1.0 does not specify a TSS for MTM.
